The DuroMax XP13000HXT is one of the most flexible whole-home backup generators in its class because of one feature: tri-fuel capability. The unit will run on gasoline, liquid propane or natural gas, so you can choose whichever fuel is most available, most economical or most practical for your situation — and you can switch between them in the field. Hook a propane tank for a long, clean run; tap natural gas off the house line for indefinite runtime; fall back to gasoline when neither is available.
Power output is rated at 13,000 starting watts and 10,500 running watts on gasoline, with proportional figures on LP and NG. That is enough to power most of an average home through an outage, including the AC, refrigerator, freezer, well pump, lights and select circuits. The push-button electric start eliminates pull-cord wrestling, and a battery is included.
Safety features are a real strength here. The integrated CO Alert system continuously monitors carbon monoxide levels around the unit and automatically shuts the engine off if dangerous concentrations are detected. The full panel includes 120 V household outlets, 120/240 V twist-lock outlets, a heavy-duty 50 A receptacle and GFCI protection.
The XP13000HXT is built around a 500cc OHV engine, mounted in a heavy steel frame with solid-fill never-go-flat tires for site mobility.
